MAKING A DIFFERENCE
A face massage that makes a long lasting, life changing difference.
FACE SCULPTING - THE DEEP WORK
Although it could be considered a face massage or a cosmetic facial, for me as a practitioner, it is a holistic full body experience. Clients often comment that they can feel the movements all the way to their hips and toes. That is because the whole body is connected, and the spine is the connection and the highway.
Expression
The face shows the expression to how our body is feeling. Frowns, lines around lips and laugh lines, jaw clenching and crinkles at the sides of our eyes all reflect our daily habits of thought. Often when we start working into the lines that are set, and negative, it can bring up a realization that we are worried and then lead to dealing with what worries us for example. All laugh lines should stay.
Beauty
From a beauty perspective, the deep massage and stretching of muscles in the face, help to create a softer and more relaxed expression. Our jaw becomes softer, yet more defined. The deep lines soften as we encourage collagen production and blood flow to the epidermal layers below the outer skin layer. The tone and colour of skin become more even as pigmentation is encouraged to detoxify naturally through to the outer layers. Double chins and puffiness disappear as we push fluid down through the channels of the lymphatic system in the side of the face below the ears and down the neckline towards armpits and torso. Acne clears as we detoxify the deep layers but primarily, open lymphatic drainage and block lymph. Acne is also improved by the treatment to epidermis, squeezing, stretching, and rolling of the seven layers below the top layer, keeping it supple, strong and fed by good toxin free nutrients. Good blood flow, and no toxins equals glowing skin from within.
Double chin and forehead lines
Anatomically the lines on the forehead and the double chin are more related to posture. When we slump down with head forwards, the muscles at the back of the neck create a sliding forward of the whole face downwards at the front. This creates an aged look, fluid collection under the jaw and chin, and lines above the eyebrow. By toning and stretching the back of the neck and occipitals, we can encourage occipitals that are on either side of the scalp to pull back the face upwards, creating a smoother appearance.
Jaw
Deep jaw work happens around the shoulders, deep neck flexor, occipitals and then the jaw. Gentle neck stretches and manual manipulation, release the tension and muscle memory, which locks the position of a locked jaw. When we work on softening the jaw after this, the muscles can relax and start to revert to their natural unclenched position.
Our senses
From a holisitc perspective, Face Sculpting addresses all the senses. Sight, smell, sound, taste, and touch. From an embryotic development and science view, when we are just a tiny bean, the holes of the face develop joined by the spine to the entrance to reproductive and digestion systems. The spine contains all the nerves that act as messengers to the whole body, including the skin that covers the body. Therefore the face massage has such a deep connection to the whole body.
Emotions
From an emotional perspective, putting ourselves in touch with how we feel inside our minds that has now become the expression of the face is revealing. It often encourages us to think about our feelings and how we could change them to enter a more peaceful state so that our face also reflects peace.
IF YOU WANT TO LOOK AND FEEL BETTER
I recommend a first consult and face treatment. where we discuss you. During and after treatment, we will discover any major accidents, surgeries or conditions that might be having an effect on your facial expression and posture.
